  • So you might've seen me at Cube last night (tucked away in a corner awaiting my order for over 2hrs!). Apparently this place used to be the Ultra Supper Club, but is now simply the club on Queen St. W. This is definitely not my usual hangout; I was there for a friend's farewell party. Most of the group was coming from another venue, so we wanted drinks AND food, which apparently is too much to ask for at this joint. Strike one against the service was when staff scrabbled to find enough patio seating for our group of about 15, despite having reservations. Strike two was when the drinks filtered in slowly, with those coming later being served first. Strike three (and this is a big one) was our food arriving one dish at a time (once again following the bizarre rule of those ordering later getting food earlier) over the next 2 hrs! A couple of redeeming qualities I'll mention simply because they keep this review from being one star are: 1. food quality was acceptable and 2. we did not end up getting charged for food since the kitchen closed before all our orders were delivered. A couple of notables about the atmosphere on the patio - nice setup for drinks and casual conversation, but the music was too loud for meaningful dialogue, especially as the night progressed. I have to say I won't be coming back here. My suggestion to Cube is improve your food service, or simply stop serving food.
