What can I say about Grist that has not already been said? Grist has a cool little spot tucked away on a back street in Millvale. The parking can get dicey when they fill up, but at least you're not in the main part of town where you'll pay to park. Their outdoor area is top notch and expansive. The vibe is laid back and they often times have a food truck onsite outside. Their deck gets crowded and I typically don't like hanging there because of this. The indoor bar has the game of the night on the TV and again is usually packed. This makes it difficult to navigate and get beer sometimes which is annoying. Service is usually slow because of the crowds they attract. Part of me wonders why so many flock to Grist because their beer is just slightly above average and Pittsburgh has better choices. Maybe because of the laid back atmosphere and cool outdoor area? Maybe because some aren't as much of a beer snob and are fine with beer slightly better than big box breweries? Probably a combination and it's a destination somewhat?
That's all.
