| - Here to update my review since last time I was just complaining about the restaurant not being open. Actually, this is understandable because of where the restaurant is located, far from downtown. It would be difficult to control online schedules when the times depend on the week. I waited a bit before being seated, and chose to sit at the bar. Kameron was my awesome waiter. I sat next to two people who work there, a gentleman and a girl named Rain. Rain talked with me a little bit before leaving. She was nice and knew the owners since she was young. The same was true with Kameron. My dinner finally came and it was fantastic. Nice juicy steak with tasty beans and rice. My phone sucks so no pictures, sorry, but imagine the normal fajita style sides and corn bread tortillas, not to mention cinnamon/sugar sprinkled bread and butter for an appetizer. I'm still stuffed. Kameron kept checking on me, making sure I was doing well. I asked him about the fountain in the front. You see, there's this picture right above the fountain with two women rinsing their hair in a fountain and literally nothing else in the room. So, basically, if I were a woman, I would feel like I'm supposed to rinse my hair in the fountain before going in to be seated. He laughed. He explained how they couldn't keep busy late anymore, so they can only be open late some nights. Knowing this, I recommend calling the restaurant to make sure they are open if you plan to go late, even if Google or Yelp says they are open. He told me about how the restaurant will be closing in a year because the owners were leaving to do something like philanthropy and providing food for people in another country. I talked with the owner, Obdulio Escobar, before leaving. He's been here since '97 and wants to GTFO of the city. I told him that I felt the same way, but I've just been here 4 years. College and running a restaurant are a bit different time-scale wise. Especially after the last review, I owe them a 5-star. Seriously, take someone special here before they close, or have a fun evening with a group of friends. I'm totally a loner, wish I wasn't, and had a good time still, but I would go with someone if I had someone to go with.
I need to take my girlfriend out.
