  • I was seeking an alternative to draining my pool water, which can damage your in-ground pool structure if not performed correctly or at the right time of year, when I discovered the RO water filtration service for pools. Russ did a great job, was on time, very professional, yet down to earth and personable. He took great pains to make sure it was all set up correctly and even checked in with me during the day to make sure everything was fine even though he can monitor things remotely (he even put up caution posts to insure no one would trip over the hoses). That evening he came back to remove the equipment and I had this crystal clear water I had never seen in my pool before. He performed chemical tests both before and after so I knew exactly how much CYA, Calcium and TDS were removed and it was impressive. He explained how I could better treat my pool with chemicals to avoid the problems I had previously. I was so in awe of not only the visual difference but the feel of the water too that I started to learn as much as possible about pool care and equipment. Russ was an email away when I had a question too. I since have let go of my pool service which was money down the drain really and at 64 yrs old take care of my own pool the Troublefreepool.com way. This experience taught me a lot and I saved 90% of my pool water which we need to be conscientious of wasting being in the desert. Cost for me was similar to a drain and refill but you can do this anytime of the year without risk to your pool structure since you don't leave your pool empty of water at any time during the process. BTW, don't put chlorine "pucks" back in your pool or apply Cal-Hypo shock routinely (unless really needed for algea) afterwards as my pool service did for a few short weeks before letting them go, because my CYA and Calcium doubled in that short time and could of ruined the RO I had done very quickly (watch out for the pool stores that tell you otherwise too). I now use a liquid chlorine feeder off-line which my pump dispenses nightly along with occasional "dry" acid for PH/TA stabilizing (I prefer dry to liquid for various reasons). Russ showed me how easy it is to take care of my pool myself with a little knowledge and the right tools. I am also spending less to maintain my pool now $$$ :). Thanks Russ! P.S. Russ, still think a picture of a pool on the trailer would speak volumes (pictures worth a thousand words) as someone passed by it and had to ask me what it was for. *Readers; Just in case you are wondering, I was not paid nor given a discount for posting this review or am I even a relative, just a customer who reads others reviews and appreciates an honest assessment of their interaction with a business or product so I have a better chance of having a good experience and outcome.
