| - I came in to Aqua Hair Salon a few months ago and was so disappointing. I left upset, and totally worn out from listening to 3 hours of constant complaining and arguing. I came in to get my hair cut and have more blonde put in my hair along with getting rid of my brown roots; I asked for the best of the best...if the stylist that did my hair was the best...I'm scared to see what the other girls are like.
When I walked in I was excited to see what was behind their front wall because the front was gorgeous. When I was taken into the back however I was confused. I had walked into a 5 star salon and then was led back to a 2 star salon. All of the walls are aqua and black, maybe if I were a teenager I would have enjoyed it but it felt very immature and unwelcoming. Black walls in a salon are never a good idea for many reasons; they're cold, they offer no natural light/view and with the color scheme that Aqua Hair Salon chose it actually ended up making their salon look smaller. I headed to the bathroom before my service and the bathroom was junk. The lock on the door didn't even work, I could have gone into a better bathroom at a Wendy's. Next there was dirt/dust and hair all over the floors, the mirrors, the sinks. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months!
Getting to my service...within the first 5 minutes I should have got up and left. She noticed my wedding ring and began to tell me how stupid love was and how only those with no spine could get married. I thought to myself that maybe she just had some bad experiences and I ignored the comments initially...until they progressed. Every time I spoke to her she had something bad to say about someone or something. Instead of receiving a relaxing service I felt like I was being bombarded by all the things that are wrong with HER life. She continued to complain to me about her boyfriends..her father...her mother...her step mother...her siblings..the other workers..her past jobs..the weather...this state...the party scene..(oh and she gave me some very valuable advice as to how to stay away from the strip and partying because it often tears marriages apart *eye roll*). She complained and had negative things to say about EVERYTHING that was brought up. Eventually I just tried to stop speaking with her because I was welling up with anxiety.
After my hair was "complete" and I had an opportunity to look at it; I noticed that it looked as though not much had changed. I still had roots half way down my scalp, and as far as I can tell all that she did was put a few foils in (that didn't even reach my scalp) and somehow believed that that would blend. Then when she asked how I would like my hair styled I told her I wanted it STRAIGHT. She proceeded to blow dry my hair with a round brush and CURL it. When she was finished I asked her to please straighten my hair again and she rolled her eyes at me and yelled at me saying "Why didn't you tell me when I was half way through!?" (Because you asked me before the service dummy!) She then straightened my hair and was very rough with me which was absurd because all she was doing was straightening my hair. I don't know what her problem was but she was Horrible.
This was the WORST service I have EVER received in my life. I will NEVER COME BACK. Not only was I charged for a service that didn't even happen, I was yelled at, I was complained at, I was joked about and the ambiance was WAAAAY off. Not to mention the fact that it was dirty, and the people were all rude. Even the rep up front. I don't know who owns this salon but IT'S NOT WORKING.
