| - It took me a couple of u-turns to get to this place and I parked in the wrong parking lot, but I made it! It's definitely tucked away.
The patio is inviting; tables have umbrellas, lights are strung around the patio and could provide intimate dining ambiance in the evening.
I was here early 4:30ish for "social hour" and there was only one other patron. It appeared regulars and groups started to trickle in after 5:30.
They have a pretty good "social hour" menu that enables you to get a sampling of food. I shared the Peasant Paella that had shrimp, chicken, fish , chorizo with traditional saffron rice. The paella was filling and had a good amount of protein. It's only $11 on the HH menu and enough for two. We also shared the Pernil Tacos (shredded pork). I would order both again, but the favorite was the Peasant Paella.
The drinks here could fair better. I ordered the Guava Mojito... But there was not one bit of guava to be savored. It was a refreshing drink, but not
much alcohol in this $7 HH drink. My second drink was the Seasonal Sangria which was served with Apple sections and blackberries.
The dessert was rather large! It consisted of two robust squares of "Horchata" bread pudding scoops of Chocolate Malted Crunch ice cream and topped with whipped cream. I did not taste the Horchata, but It was good. Not phenomenal, but good.
The bathroom can use some MrClean and elbow grease.
On the menu it acknowledged the time that each of the employees have worked at Fuego. It's nice to know that employees have been with them for several years. They also advertise on the website that there is entertainment during social hour. While we were there (Friday 4:30-6pm) we simply enjoyed the swoosh of the leaves on the trees as the nice breeze pushed through them.
Overall, the food was good, the service was quick and the environment enabled the enjoyment of the food and company.
This would be a fun place to bring a large group.
our tab was just a tad over $55 : Mai Tai , Blue Hawaiian, Guava Mojito, Seasonal Sangria, Peasant Paella, Pernil Tacos, and Horchata Bread Pudding. All items were off of the HH menu.
I would go back for dinner and I would bring a few friends.
