  • One of my favorite things about Montreal is the Palais des congrès. Known to us simpletons as the Palace of Conventions, this facility is certainly nothing short of palatial. Having attended conferences here in the past, this is one of the most multifaceted venues in the city. It's everything one would want in a conference center: big, beautiful, bright, versatile, and smack dab in the center of it all. The colorful building is no architectural wonder, but the interior is every bit as contemporary as any futuristic modern designer would have it. The staff is professional and top notch. They host a myriad of events throughout the year and give a good reason for visiting audiences from all over the globe to enjoy Montreal. From exhibitions to conferences, there is a lot that can be done with this space. Wedding venue anyone? There are some small retail shops available, but during the off peak days of the month, the place feels like a cross between an arena and transportation terminal. It's still one of my favorite places to visit, so as long as there is something going on.
