  • Before I get into my review: Please be aware that My has no issues tempting you with future discounts if you give her a 5-star Yelp review; she mentioned this a few times to me while I was there. My experience was not 5-star, so I am not giving one. I also believe people can feel compelled to overlook flaws and give a better review than they would have otherwise if there's the promise of a discount. Keep that in mind when you decide to book here based on the many 5-star reviews. On to the review itself... My was responsive to booking via Yelp message. She was kind in person while doing my nails. Her prices weren't unreasonable but seemed a bit higher than other places I've been. I got a regular manicure & pedicure. The space she rents inside the salon is a tiny room that is quite cramped, which is fine, but if you are claustrophobic or a person of size, you may not be ok with it. She does nails there but uses the salon's chairs for pedicures in a larger common area. The day I was there she had her grade-school-aged son with her, who mostly kept himself busy playing on a tablet, but keep that possibility in mind if you're not into kids making noise while you're trying to relax & get your nails done. My nails & toes seemed mostly fine at first, though I noticed a few crooked ones when I got home (no huge deal, though, since there are usually one or two I need to tweak no matter where I go). The worst part was, they started to chip the very next morning, multiple nails, including a few toes -- for reference, with just regular polish, my toe nail polish will usually stay perfect until they have grown out enough to be redone and never chip once (at least a month; usually more). I thought about going back to have her redo them but didn't want to waste more time layering a crappy job on a crappy job. Probably won't be back to try this place again unless I get desperate one day. UPDATE: Since I cannot seem to reply publicly to the business owner's public comment, let it be known that the details she has provided are completely wrong as applies to me and obviously belong to a different reviewer. I went in May, and I did not get a fill but a regular mani/pedi -- there was nothing on my nails when I visited. Both the mani and pedi started chipping the next day without any extra or unusual wear & tear. And I'll add: I went to a different place a week ago for the a regular mani/pedi, no fancy add-ons or polish, and my nails are still pristine today without me taking any special care of them. The job performed for me at Nails by My was plainly sub-par.
