| - Plenty of parking, clean, well-kept, and very populated. There is also a regular police presence here which makes me think the signs telling visitors to hide their valuables are because petty theft and/or car break-ins are prevalent here (I have experienced neither, thankfully...). (Sorry if you read my review on Chaparral Park in general and this is old news!)
The downsides of the off-leash areas (of which there are two open at any given time - one for socialized dogs and one for scaredy-dogs) is that, at least at present and for the past month plus the "grass" is completely dead and dried, so it gets all over you, your dogs, your clothes, in your shoes, etc. The other downer is the shitty (pun intended) dog owners who can't be bothered to clean up after their pets. I think if you own a dog you should be mature enough to pick up you best friends land mines!!
The off-leash area for socialized dogs is closed Tuesdays and Fridays until noon, so plan your visit carefully lest you let your pup down!
