Best ballpark in America? Abso-BUCN-lutely. Best tacos in America? Not so much. I was so excited to try the new street tacos on the club level this season, but my opening day dining experience was less than bueno. For $11, I was handed two grey-ish chicken tacos (seriously, they matched the color of the cardboard tray) with a side of nachos and cheese. I'm not one to judge a book by it's cover, so I figured they couldn't be that bad. I was wrong.
Basically, the staff really need to be educated on how to assemble a taco in a corn tortilla... you have to warm them first or they break as soon as you put anything inside them, which is exactly what happened to me. I guess I can cross "eating tacos with a fork" off my bucket list. I've never met a taco I didn't like, and hopefully the kinks will get worked out as the season progresses, but I think they'd be better off bringing back the kielbasa/hot dog place that used to inhabit this particular spot.
I love PNC Park and always will, and I'm definitely not going to let this taco debacle deter me from future excursions to the ballpark, but I figured I should share my less-than-appetizing experience so that others will think twice before making the trip to the club level for tacos. Five stars for the ballpark and overall experience... I'd rate the tacos a little closer to 2 stars.
