| - I am contacting you about the experience I had in the Walmart at Steelyard in Cleveland, Ohio on August 7, 3016. It was the most unpleasant experience I have ever had in any Walmart at any time. I am not a frequent Walmart shopper. One of the things I a have noticed over the years is a consistently clean and well-organized store.
The store in Steelyard was trashed. As I entered the door two associates were friendly and directed met to the bathroom tissue. On the way, I was floored by the disarray everywhere. clothing on the floors, open packages in aisles, merchandise thrown on shelves, empty shelves. The floors were dirty. There was debris on them. It was awful. There were associates wandering around everywhere seemingly aimlessly. When I finally completed my purchases, I got in line. The one bright spot was a manager directing customers to open cashier. The customer at the register had some difficulty, so my wait was extended. The point of purchase display was a wreck. It looked as if no one had stocked or touched it in a week.
When I finally got to the register, I wanted to purchase some stamps. I reminded the cashier before I paid for my purchases. She did not know how to ring them up. Neither did the associate helping her bag. They got a manual from the associate at the next register and proceeded to leisurely thumb through the manual. I told them nevermind, paid for my purchases and left.
As I mentioned, I do not frequently shop at Walmart. Your low prices come a the expense of many American businesses and jobs. The low wage jobs at Walmart do not promote upward mobility. I will continue to shop there for hard to find sewing and other items, but I will never shop at the Steelyard Walmart again if I can avoid it. This store should be cleaned up, retrained or closed. This was a terrible experience and I have already shared it at least 3 times. I am going to share it on the Walmart corporate site as well. With all the revenue Walmart rakes in, they can afford to staff adequately and provide a positive customer experience.
