Yum!
My travel companion and I were in Toronto just for the weekend. On our way to Bang Bang, H saw the sign for this place and freaked out because they had Dutch yummies on the menu. She had just moved back from Holland and was missing and craving Dutch fare, so it was decided. After our ice cream sandwiches, we would grab some lunch here.
The bar is spacious and there was plenty of seating. We ordered the frikandel (sausage sandwich), veal kroket (on a bun), chicken bitterballen, and the kaas en grillworst (cheese & sausage). Everything was super delicious but I especially loved the chicken bitterballen. I've only had beef bitterballen before so it was a little different but it was really good. The curry ketchup on the frikandel was also a nice touch. I'm seriously going to try and recreate these at home (I have a food blog so I'll probably document everything there).
The bartender was a little weird and slow and not so helpful. However, our main server (and the chef's wife; the chef is the Dutchman) was super lovely and sweet. We were also given stroopwafel as an after dinner treat with our check.
