| - Myself and a group of my friends visited Codescape for my birthday recently. This was such a blast! We did the Shipwrecked room because for the majority of us it was our first escape room. The design of the room/subrooms was absolutely amazing. I love that we weren't in just one area the entire time as I had thought some escape rooms were. The puzzles were well thought out and just hard enough that after some joint thought you would get through each. You receive 3 hints, and all you have to do is shout out to your game master and collectively agree to use it. I liked this system, I had heard at other places you received a walkie-talkie which would take me out of the experience.
The only thing that was a negative was that one puzzles we did would have went by much quicker if the piece supplied had been correct, that sounds confusing, but I don't want to ruin anything. We were doing exactly what we were supposed to, but a part wasn't working properly so we spent a lot more time on it than we needed to and ended up using a hint even though we had it figured out in the first place. Honestly, the rest of experience was such fun that I wouldn't even mark down for this.
When arriving at this location (especially at night) you will probably think you're in the wrong area. A few of my friends called me to make sure I gave them the right address, but once inside it's very nice, clean, and welcoming. They provide lockers to put away your jackets, purses, phones, etc.
I do really wish you got a discount for booking the entire room, our group would probably do this more often it that were the case. I just don't like the idea of playing with strangers, not knowing people's names or their intellectual levels when working together on something like this is a hard pass to me.
Oh and we escaped the room! Already excited to return and play the others. Thanks to everyone at Codescape!
