| - What a disappointment! We had tickets to a show at the barrymore next door, and had heard good things. 2 of the 3of us arrived first, and were seated right away..there were only a couple other tables.
We ordered drinks, which took at least 10 minutes to arrive. (and in the meantime,a second waitress tried to take a drink order again. We mentioned the delay to the 2nd waitress, who came back and said our waitress was talking, and she didn't want to interrupt her (!?) When our drinks finally arrived, the original waitress thanked us for our patience.
Our third party arrived, and we ordered 2 appetizers. The spring rolls arrived in just a few minutes, but the satay took 10. It was warm (not hot), but was ok. Multiple appetizers for one table should really come out together.
We each ordered dishes covering the varied spice levels, but on receipt, my companion who ordered the "cautious" level found it nearly too hot to eat, while the "adventurous" level I requested was so bland as to not have any apparent spice at all. (and for a dish listed to be "in a peanut sauce", it should be noted that a small amount of sauce was simply poured over the dish, rather than actually part of the dish itself). Our third asked for "timid", and was happy with the level for her dish.
We brought the spice error to our waitress' attention, only to be told that 2 different people made the entrees, and she offered to bring more spice for my dish, but made no offer to redo my companion's too-hot dish.
Since we were on a time restraint, I thanked her, but passed -she brought it anyway. We asked for boxes, which arrived almost immediately and were the one item to arrive at our table the fastest.
The check arrived, with the full price charged for the incorrect dishes, not even an offer to take off even a token amount, nor even the standard "come see us again". It's a shame, since I'd heard such good things, but I won't be back anytime soon. Perhaps things are better at the Willy St location.
