| - I have been getting massages here for years. Followed my favorite therapist, Pom, from their Mesa location to the Miller Rd Scottsdale location to this Scottsdale Quarter location. IMHO they have the best therapists. My sister's favorite is the guy. I go every month and it keeps my aches and pains away. They are very reasonable and very good. Very clean and lovely place and they don't try to up-sell you other services. I was there in June when a James M was there- see his review on 6/4 where he said the service was disasterous but he did not get service because he was in a hurry. The girl at the front desk was working byy herself checking two women out at around 5 pm and I was one of them.
Apparently the young man had called, ask if they had availability at 5 pm and when he was told yes, he hung up. It's my understanding that he did not give her his name or that he would be there. He just showed up at 5 pm. Obviously they were happy to take him but as a new client, you have to complete a form, get escorted to the locker area where you can change into something more comfy if you want to. So if you arrive at 5 and was not expected, a few minutes wait time is not unreasonable.
As the girl was checking me out, he started berating her, upset that he was not going to get a full hour of service. At that time, I chimed in, trying to help, telling him that he should be able to get his 1 hr service as it was only 3 or 4 minutes after 5 pm. Apparently he had a hard stop at 6 pm. So he was on a tight schedule and its not anybody's fault that he didn't arrive earlier or give himself some leaway in terms of time. Not sure if he knew he was going to get a nice discount for being a first time customer, so he would have gotten an amazing service at an even more reasonable price. Since I had a gift card, it would have just taken less than a minute to swipe my card to check me out, but he was in such a state, he didn't want to wait, felt it was his right to be served first as he 'had made an appointment'. The girl told he didn't make an appointment. I felt embarrassed for her as he was not very nice. If he was nice about it, I would have gladly said he could go ahead of me. He asked to speak to the manager and when the girl responded she is the manager, I think that further set him off. The girl stopped checking me out and escorted him back to the therapy area but he continued his tirade all trhe way to the back, re-hashing how she was unprofessional, how he was being gibbed out of his 1 hr of service, etc. At that point, she asked him to leave if he was going to be so unhappy. He left.
I do use yelp to look up reviews of businesses but this is the first review I've written as I feel I should respond by telling the other side of the story.
