  • Since I didn't want to read the reviews and instead come to my own conclusions about Halal Guys, I did not see all the warnings about the hot sauce. We ordered a chicken platter and a gyro platter and proceeded to drizzle a pouch of hot sauce on each. WOW, our mouths were on fire. Overall, the gyro (beef) platter was WAYYY better than the chicken one. The chicken was a bit dry and didn't have very much flavour. (This might have been the fact that I lost a handful of nerves in my mouth from the hot sauce by this point, but even then, beef all the way!) The platters come with rice, shredded iceberg lettuce and some flatbread. You can add your own toppings (jalapeños, olives, green peppers, onions for free.) Overall, the Halal Guys was good but I don't think it's anything unique. You can find very comparable if not better platters at other middle-eastern restaurants. If I ever do try The Halal Guys again, I know I'll be sticking with the gyro choices.
