| - "Ready, and Smile"!
... A phrase that would make my lips tighten for years when I was younger as I was ashamed and embarrassed of my dental situation. Overbite, crowding, spacing, twisted teeth, crowded wisdom teeth - What a disaster!
My parents picked up on my noticeable insecurities at a young age and when it was finally appropriate they introduced me to Davis Orthodontics. My first appointment was in October of 1996, and Dr. Alan Davis and his office coordinator Cathy sat me down and told me that they could help me.
The process at the time would be lengthy (2.5 years by their best guess) but I was on board and willing to commit. During my treatment there were many good days and many bad (which usually coincided with getting my braces tightened), but the friendly staff (and video games) always had me eager to come in for my next appointment.
Dr. Alan was true to his word and within 2.5 years (2 years and 3 months to be exact) my braces were off and my smile was radiant. For the first time in my life I began to feel confident about my smile and the compliments began pouring in. What a truly indescribable feeling!
Towards the end of my treatment Dr. Alan moved his practice just down Yonge street to its current Richmond Hill location. This location (if you haven't been) is beautiful, bright, with many more chairs (and many more video games).
Even better is after my treatment was complete, as my younger siblings began their own Davis Ortho journey, Dr. Alan's son (Kevin) joined the practice to work.
The combined force of Kevin and Alan (and staff) is an unstoppable one, they have mastered making their patients feel as comfortable as possible (and their parents) through what can be, at times, an uncomfortable couple of years.
Fast forward 13 years and my smile is still glowing and something I regularly am complimented on. Big thanks to Dr. Alan, Kevin and the staff for the work and for giving me my confidence
