I have to start again by saying, read your Yelp reviews and trust them. I waited til the last minute to make reservations and Harrah's was all that was available on the Strip.
I first got into the lobby around 5pm and was standing in the check in line for at least 40 minutes! Everyone in line was making jokes about how horrible their check in process is. severely frustrating, there is a shortage of staff right from the first impression.
The room itself seemed clean and the bed was comfortable. My room was on the mardi gras tower which is in very poor shape and very old and tattered, the wallpaper in my room was completely peeled off. it looked so bad. Harrah's really needs to update the entire hotel. not just a small portion of the hotel like they have at this point.
I unexpectedly found out that the Carnival court bar that is right below all of the hotel rooms plays extremely loud live bands all night long past 3am which keeps everyone facing this side of the hotel awake all night long! I didn't think of asking to move my room not knowing that this bar does this every night apparently. It was a pure nightmare. I know its Las Vegas so I gave it a pass the 1st night, but eventually guests should be able to sleep past 2pm.
There was nowhere to plug in your phone to charge, the Wi-Fi is not free. I did not pay for it. complete inconveniences. There are not a lot of places to eat at Harrah's besides the food court.
I was stuck in Vegas another day longer than I planned so again, the only cheaply priced hotel available was Harrah's again, but they did put me in a different room in the Carnival tower and it was quiet but not as comfortable. I was thankful to finally get 1 night of sleep.
I would not stay again, and I don't recommend it. Its old and needs renovations badly.
