My friend had heard of Drumlin Ridge so we made it a point to try it out when she was back in Dane County. It's easy to find on River Road closest to Hwy 19. It was a hot Sunday but the inside was nice and cool. There are several seating options inside. Outside there are many tables under shade and a cozy area near a fireplace. That fireplace is where I would want to be in the late fall.
We had the Classics wine tasting for 10 dollars. Not completely crazy expensive. The pours were a generous tasting pour. I was pleasantly surprised on the complex tastes of the wines I tried.
In addition to the tastings, one may buy wine by the glass or bottle. On this hot day, the wine slushes were popular. My friend got the red but it was not as slushy as it could be. It did stay nice and cold for her. I had a glass of the Wauna Blush. Cool and mineral-ly (is that a word?)
As we were sitting down to enjoy our beverages, a musician started to play. He was a folk artist who played very well. We enjoyed the laid back vibe of the establishment. I am totally checking it out again.
