| - My husband and I were flying (for his 50th birthday) from Las Vegas to Cabo San Lucas (through LAX). The plane from Las Vegas had a mechanical issue and left Las Vegas an hour late. We landed in Los Angeles at Terminal 1 at 7:40 am, with a Southwest International flight out of Terminal 3 at 8:15 am. We were in row 14. We asked the stewardess several times about our flight. Could we leave the plane first, could they hold the plane, how would we make it. She assured us we would make it as the first officer for the Cabo flight was on our Las Vegas flight. By the time we exited the plane it was 7:50. We ran over 1.5 miles, full speed to the international terminal. Begged security to let us go first, ran the rest of the way to our gate, arriving at 8:05.
The problem we have is that when we arrived, the gate agent said they were "looking" for us and asked us why we did not take the shuttle they had for us to transfer. We were stunned! After we asked the stewardess several times about getting to the International Terminal, waited for 13 rows to exit before us and ran in street clothes through LAX (for 1.5 miles), we found out that there was a shuttle? A convenient, easy way to start out vacation not in a panic we would miss our flight?
Not one Southwest person said a single word to us.
We fly Southwest all the time. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and service we experienced. That was certainly not a way to start a vacation. I am frankly shocked that not a single person told us that there was an easy way to get to our destination. While the delay out of Las Vegas was unavoidable, the exhausting start to out trip certainly was.
