  • I rarely drink coffee. But when I do, I only want 1 shot - Period, end of sentence. Also, when I want coffee, I don't have much patience for waiting in long lines. However, I often do make an exception for Dutch Brothers. Except in Gilbert! They have 3 of these not too far from each other, but the lines are always so damn long!! At least the ones in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe and Mesa that I go to don't have such ridiculously long lines. We stayed too long in Gilbert, having dinner with friends, that the monsoon storm rolled in and basically enveloped the East Valley with strong gusts of Wind and Torrential Rain. So, where do you think I went instead of trying to make it back home? Dutch Brothers! No lines. No waiting. And we just sat there talking up a "storm" (literally) at the drive-thru with the Barista. No one was behind us. No one arrived for quite some time. Why didn't I think of this before? On top of that, I actually had enough time to consume my first cup, and 2 more cups after that. I didn't even have to leave the drive-thru window. Just rolled up the car window as I enjoyed my coffee, and rolled it back down to order, once again. Taking the time to chat in between during the downpour. Then, of course, I wound up not being able to sleep until Sunday afternoon. There's always a downside, isn't there?
