| - Classic Italian Pizza is hands down some of the best pizza I've had, anywhere, thus far. In the Phoenix area, even better overall food-wise than Cibo, and could possibly (but not entirely) even rival the holy Pizzeria Bianco in similar quality and consistency.
Unlike those other said restaurants, however, the atmosphere at CIP is always casual, relaxed and unfussy. Very family-friendly.
Highly fresh ingredients are used, including their notable homemade mozzarella and pizza dough. The pies, all baked made-to-order in a large stone pizza oven, come out perfect. The crust consistently has just the right amount of crispiness, while still remaining perfectly air-soft and tender. Add in that said homemade mozzarella, as well as sauces, and you have the making of pizza heaven.
The very hidden, nondescript space, tucked away in the far corner of a strip mall, is homey and comfortable. The mom-and-pop vibe is ever-present, and the no-nonsense and straight-forward friendliness of the owners (and service) is always a welcome change of pace. Whether you live in the vicinity, or a moderate drive away, CIP is easily worth the trip for some excellent Pizza.
