| - Imagine if all that crazy crap on the walls at TGIFridays was for sale -- after a few mudslides, you could be the proud owner of a pair of 1930s snowshoes or an old road sign splashed with mook-puke!
Well, that's the basic concept here. I'll be honest, when I first heard about this joint, I groaned and rolled my eyes -- another twee hipster startup: a curio-filled bar that is actually a secondhand store! JUST WHAT I ALWAYS WANTED!
Shtick aside, this place is actually super cool. The junk-tiques are fun and interesting, and interactively scattered about everywhere. The vibe is like getting sloshed in your grandma's attic or your boozy uncle's basement mancave. Fabulous!
More importantly, the drinks are very reasonably priced and the staff is unpretentious -- unlike other area bars with egg-white-frothing mustachioed mixologists, etc. This is a fun, solid place to a drink or three...especially if you want to avoid the douchebags and parking hassles of East Fremont. Here, there is street parking all around, and you should be able to park for free most days. Plus, you're within walking distance of plenty of interesting shops, galleries, food and drink spots.
East Fremont is sooooo 2016; 2017 is all about the Arts District!
