| - I'm writing this review and awarding stars based on the fact that those that choose to stay at the Best Western are cognizant that this establishment is not a resort/spa, not a luxury get-a-way, and not on The Strip in Las Vegas. The Best Western experience should be friendly, professional, and personal where appropriate. I found those to all be met during my recent stay.
Easy check-in, easy layout of the hotel, breakfast was served on-time, was damn good (again: you aren't dining at Le Bernadin, people) and enthusiastically tended by Raelene who made sure everything was filled, hot, and replenished as it was consumed. The shower and toilet and sink all worked well and were clean. Room service wasn't annoying or loud in the mornings. The ice machine worked well and easily (you'll need it in AZ!). The pool was simple, with towels available and plenty of comfortable seating. Overall, this is a very quiet, very chill, and very affordable place to stay.
My experience was made even nicer when Ashley appropriated a box fan for me to use to sleep at night - Arizona is really hot and I love the white noise of the fan, so this was a life-saver. I really appreciated her going out of her way to do so.
In short, if the above criteria meet your needs and you want to keep costs down, the location should do you just fine. Uber to nearby mid-range restaurants (PF Chang's, BBQ joints, and the like), or take a stroll to the Arby's, Angry Crab, or the Burger King shops across the street. Don't forget to hit up Dairy Queen for some late-night ice cream (you'll need to Uber the 2 miles).
