If you don't have high expectations in a hotel, then this is for you. If you expect them to do their job without trying to make you feel like you're a problem - spend the extra and go somewhere else.
The pros: right on Fremont St - so close to the music, fun and drinking. There are stages and live music at night, bars everywhere and fun bartenders, bright lights, street performers and a zip line.
The cons: right on Fremont St - the music is so loud and lasts until 0200. It didn't bother us but if you want quiet and want to sleep, you won't get it here.
The smoke is strong. We had a non smoking room - you can't tell the difference. It smells strongly of smoke as well.
The employees just seem like they hate their jobs. We met one bellhop that was enthusiastic but everyone else - not so much.
The rooms....skip the north tower. It was awful. The bed was so broken down the head was lower than the foot. We complained and the front desk clerk gave us a really hard time about moving but eventually (begrudgingly) moved us to the south tower. The bed wasn't very comfortable but it was clean. Smelled strongly of smoke even though it was non smoking.
Skip Magnolia on the breakfast front. Less than mediocre food and the staff was less than pleasant. There is a Dunkin Donuts across the street that's better or even the breakfast buffet at the Fremont.
Parking was free for guests even though we had been told $3 a day so that was nice. Parking garage was easy enough to find and get around.
I wouldn't stay here again. It has the potential but just doesn't quite do it. It's too bad because old Vegas is pretty sweet.
