What a great view Alize has....
Very intimate dark wood/brown colors with dimmed lighting. Screams romance.
For dinner I had:
----Hamachi carpaccio- my favorite dish of the night. The presentation was very clean and unique. Fish laid carefully on plate with sauce surrounding. In the middle a fantastic little salad with puff pastry. Together it was YUM!
----Veal Wellington- this was my first experience trying veal straight up and not smothered in sauce so I didn't know what to expect. The puff pastry around the meat was good. The meat itself reminded me of a hot dog taste. Haha am I wrong to think this?
----Gnocchi- this was very close to my favorite thing as well. Lathered in a truffle sauce. Very good and highly recommended as a side
----Brussels sprouts- has bacon, nuff said. Good if you need veggies.
----DESSERTS- I am a dessertaholic so we tried a few. My favorite was the carrot cake soufflé. Must order early. I always do a classic soufflé so the carrot cake flavor with cream cheese Anglaise was perfecto. I also Love lemon desserts so my favorite fruity choice with was not tart at all was the lemon chiffon. Both will not way you down at the end of the night because they are both light.
Overall I guess I didn't go full French in the French restaurant. Service was friendly and attentive. The chef sends out a few amuse bouche during dinner with is nice. I would like to try a different entree with something I am more familiar with but I enjoyed my experience here!
