| - Our party of 7 decided to try Bridgette Bar for a birthday dinner - the atmosphere is warm and comfortable with lots of varied seating, soft dim lightning and a bohemian/industrial decor. Our waitress was welcoming and friendly while remaining professional and efficient. A nice selection of drink options, and a diverse menu with lots of unique pairings of flavors and ingredients without having too many items to choose from that it becomes overwhelming.
The food items are more or less meant to be shared, the meat plates are large and not well suited to be eaten as a meal for a single individual. Because our party was larger, we ordered quite a number of items which gave us all a chance to try. A very interesting and creative pairing of ingredients, for example; cauliflower with a chipotle aioli and sardines, eggplant fries, rabbit on toast (divine!!), scallops with apple, octopus with orange and fennel. The portion sizes for the appetizers (let's call them sides as you would need to order a few of these with a meat dish) are tiny but really lovely, so be prepared to order appropriately. Unfortunately we weren't as impressed by the meat dishes, we found the cuts to be quite fatty and not worth the price. Same goes for the desserts, would have happily taken a pass on them.
All in all, this place is good but quite expensive for the quantity of food you are getting and a bit too much hype in my opinion. I would however come back for a glass of wine and a couple of applies with a friend or my fiancé, but won't be back with a larger party as the logistics of ordering so many items to feed everyone is just too challenging.
