I am born and raised here in Mesa and have been coming here since I was 5 yrs old with my brother. I also worked here when I was 17 and I used to absolutely loved this place. Everything about it was fun with a ton of arcade games of different types! So I was pretty excited to come here after so long. Walking in it still smells the same way, and its still humid as all hell... I walked over to the counter and asked the attendant where the token machine was at and she quickly reminded me this is 2017 and tokens are obsolete.... She explained how the card work and offered me a unlimited card for 10 bucks for a hour, which I accepted. I was so excited as I ran around the arcade area looking for the real arcade games and quickly realized this is not the same golfland I grew up with. Most of the games are the claw, or ticket games. They have very few good arcade games. They no longer have the classics which sucked. So overall the arcade area was a letdown. We could have honestly just spent 30 min and been completely content... Afterwards, we walked over to the go card racing area to race some go cards. The carts cost about 20 bucks for 3 of us but I gotta admit it was kinda worth it. Golfland has recently purchased new carts that go a lot quicker then the last ones. The go carts are awesome, but I gotta say it wouldn't be worth it to just go for the carts. I cant honestly say if I was go back or not. It went from amazing to ehh... Pretty crappy.
