  • What a waste of Time & Money? Proserv Technician is clueless, lazy & unprofessional. Our Central AC Unit was not cooling so we called Proserv to take a look at the AC Unit. They send out a technician and he told us that the Freon was low by just going to the thermostat & turn on the AC. We asked if there was a leak, and he said it's possible, but he said the freon could be low even if there was no leak. He didn't even bother to go check to see if there was a leak when we requested him to do so. So he charged 3lbs of freon to the AC Unit & charged us over $400. He said if there was any problem give them a call. About 2 1/2 months later the AC unit stops working again, we didn't use the AC at all for the past 2 1/2 months after he charged the freon. Right after he charged the freon, we tested the AC unit & seems to be working fine, so we trust that he fixed the problem. 2 1/2 months later, we turned it on & it's not cooling. Since the AC unit stops working, we believe there was a leak, so I gave Proserv a called and see if they can send the same person out to take a look and find that leak. I was told that if I want them to fix the problem, they will charge us again. This is what is stated on the receipt "All labor performed by the above named company is warranted for one year or as otherwise indicated in writing." We were pretty upset about this b/c we paid them & it's not warranted. So we called up another company & the technician came out & look at everything thoroughly & told us that there was a leak right outside on the AC unit itself. It would be more cost-effective to just replace the entire unit. He said our previous technician should have told us that instead of just charge it up w/ freon b/c no matter how much freon or how many time to charge up the AC w/ freon it will just leak out. OMG! why wouldn't Proserv technician told us that? Now we have to spend thousands of dollars to replace the AC unit and on top of that paying them over $400 to just have it charged up the 1st time. Obviously there was a leak on the AC Unit that Proserv Technician was too lazy to take a look at it. If my other technician could catch the leak right away why couldn't Proserv Technician caught it at the beginning. It was upsetting that if Proserv Technician brought out the actual problem, we wouldn't have to wait for our AC unit to arrive under these extremely hot weather & paid a lot more money to have the same problem fixed, which should be fixed from the very beginning. Another upsetting thing was that Proserv Technician brought his kids to the job which was very unprofessional, kids were getting upset & fighting while waiting for him to go. We strongly believe that was one of the reason he didn't catch the leak .We do not & will not recommend any friends or family to use their service. It's a waste of time and money. The other company provide great service he got our AC Unit in two days and have it installed by the 3rd day. so far our AC unit is working fine now.
