| - Food is more 3.5 Stars, but I rounded down because of inconsistent service. Don't get me wrong though, I'm definitely a fan of this place.
I've spent quite a few brunches here nursing hangovers with great burgers, amazing mixed fries (they've got the best sweet potato fries in Phoenix), and...flights of beer. HAH. For half-awake, hungry, and indecisive folks like me on a Sunday morn, a beer flight is THE way to go. They've got some pretty decent brews too-- a lot of nice crafts from all over the place with token AZ beers like the Papago Orange Blossom and the Four Peaks Delux brew thrown into the mix. (Note: A lot of the hip, trendy places in Phoenix seem to have their own Four Peak brew...but they all taste the same!).
The burgers, once regarded as the best in Phoenix, are delicious behemoths jumping on the gourmet burger bandwagon of 2007 but falling just a little bit short of greatness. I typically play it safe with the original Delux burger cooked medium well. If I ask for medium, sometimes it's just too darn rare. They've got a mean Turkey burger, and some vegetarian options like a 3-cheese panini and veggie sammy too. The menu is simple, but the servers are not. Sometimes waiters are spot on; legitimately earning those tips with friendly and efficient service. Other times, you don't exist. The good thing however, is that they do offer take-out so you can just bring that awesome meal on home.
Oh, and if you're contemplating a cookie for dessert...DO IT. A simple and scrumptious way to punctuate an already indulgent meal.
