My fiance and I were iso stylish shelves and unique show pieces for our home. I thought WEST ELM METROPOLITAN would likely be the place to visit. Although the store had some nice pieces, we had to spend almost 45 minutes shopping within our budget to find them: prices are moderately OVER PRICED!
What was worse was the way the entire sales staff shadowed us like they ASSumed we were thieving criminals. How many times is it possible to offer customers assistance ( i.e. a brazenly veiled theft accusation ) and NOT LEAVE THE IMPRESSION YOUR PATRONAGE LEAST OF ALL PHYSICAL PRESENCE IS HIGHLY UNDESIRED ??? Hard to believe in 2011 retail stores crippled by the bad economy continue to treat customers of african descent in this manner as a default. The sales team working @ this location are mistakenly under the impression its 1911 or 1811. Shame on management who permit any customer to be treated this way; corporate headquarters as well. My first visit will absolutely be my last. The worst experience I've had shopping in a very long time.
