rev:text	I have been a satisfied Costco customer for 18 years. So when a young man approached me saying that Direct TV was running a Costco special and would I be interested in changing providers. Normally I would say no but if I signed up at a Costco store, Costco would have my back if they did not live up to what they promised. I was told by the person at the store I could cancel 48 hours after the installation if I was not satisfied. I gave him all of the required information and I had to talk to a Direct TV person on his phone to verify my information and give the person my credit card number. Also, I had to listen to a recording of all the terms and conditions. I did not hear on the recording that I had 48 hours to cancel so I asked the why. The person on the phone said the two year contract started immediately after installation. I handed the phone back to the in store salesman and told him they would not give me the 48 hours, so he talked with the person on the phone. They both had to talk with their supervisors to give me an answer. At that point I said forget it. When I got home I looked up Direct TV on Yelp and discovered they had the worst customer reviews I have ever seen. If the store salesman and the rep on the phone had agreed on what the terms were, I would be on the hook for a two year agreement with a large cancellation fee. Costco should not allow a company such as Direct TV with such a poor reputation in their stores. You should protect your customers from them.
