Last year I received a gift card for my birthday from my boyfriend, that also included a menu of their services and had circled to indicate what the gift card was for and it specified that it included gratuity as well. He had purchased a gel spa pedicure, full set of acrylic nails and 60 minute facial. When booking the appointment I explained all of this to the receptionist and she scheduled my appointment. When I arrived they had my facial scheduled first, which the service was nice but it really sucked that the rest of the day in the salon I was without makeup and my face was bright red... poor scheduling. Afterwards, I go to get my pedicure and apparently the receptionist booked it wrong because she didn't schedule for the gel nail polish to be applied. The technician was nice and did the gel coat, but my 60 min "spa" pedicure that was scheduled was barely a pedicure at all since she was overbooked and only had time to do the gel coat. The technician who did my acrylics was nice, however by the next day three of my nails had chipped on the corners. I ended up going back to my usual nail salon and having them re-do the set. The worst part of the whole experience was going to pay the bill at the end and to find out that receptionist (who I had explained what my gift card stated it was for) scheduled me with the most expensive/experienced technician and the gift card didn't even cover the cost of the appointment. In the end, I had to shell out another $80 dollars to cover the cost and tip... I will never go back. Over priced, not relaxing and horrible customer service. (The technicians I talked to stated that the mix up with scheduling happens all the time.)
