| - If you love dense, thick, sugar-heavy frosting...Sprinkles is for you. If you *don't* enjoy sugar-overloading, or if you enjoy the "cake" component of a good cupcake, perhaps look elsewhere for a decadent cupcake.
As a sugar hound, I've visited Sprinkles multiple times (for both standard and seasonal flavors) and hands-down Sprinkles produces some of my favorite cupcakes.
#1) strawberry cake with strawberry frosting. The cake is flavorful of strawberry and creamy vanilla while the frosting is crunchy thick with strawberry sweetness to cut and heighten all the flavors. It's perfection.
#2) banana cake with vanilla frosting. The cake is absolutely amazing with its puréed banana taste and the vanilla frosting is a perfect compliment for flavor combination. It's a must-buy for me every time.
#3) triple cinnamon spiced cake with cinnamon frosting. This one could use more cinnamon and sweetness but it's passable. I wouldn't rebuy.
#4) spring exclusive: lemon meringue: graham cracker bottom with lemon cake and lemon curd filling with toasted marshmallow topping. The real flavor features of this cupcake type is in the lemon curd filling with crunchy graham cracker bottom. The marshmallow topping is sweet and cuts the other flavors well, but not my favorite topping as it's so sticky and messy.
#5) spring exclusive: cookie cupcake with chocolate chip cake, a cookie bottom for a crunchy layer, and brown sugar frosting with cookie pieces on top...I loooved this blend of textures and flavors! I wish it'd been a little more buttery in flavor, but the sweet chocolate was complimented well from the cake and if there'd been a brown sugar filling, that would've made this cupcake elite!
#6) Sprinkles anniversary cupcake: supposed to be filled with magical sprinkles in a dark chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting...a huge letdown as the cupcake didn't really spill at all with sprinkles. Basic cake, regret buying.
#7) spring exclusive: cherry cupcake made of puréed seasonal cherries with cherry frosting. It was good, unique but not a favorite or one of rebuy.
Location:
-parking: is awful and leaves a lot be desired. The area to get in and navigate other cars is horrendous.
-staff friendliness: definitely 50/50. I've had exactly great and not-awesome experiences. I've felt like a friend of the person attending to me and I've felt judged and rushed before too. There's definitely a sense of "Scottsdale" that I wish didn't exist as it'd make Sprinkles more accessible to general people who might learn to appreciate more than grocery store level baked goods...
