This store has a great selection. Having said that I will say I did have a bad experience here about a month ago. I walked into the store with 2 books that I wanted to return. I go to the nearest register and wait in line for about 5 minutes only to have the cashier look at me funny and then say that she couldn't ring me up, that returns were to be done several registers over and to wait for someone to help me there. I go to the register she indicated and stand there like an idiot for about 15 minutes. Then a surly Hispanic female associate comes to the register and asks for my receipt, not even greeting me. I hand it to her and she scrutinizes it for a minute. Then she asks me: "Did you come in with one book? I thought I saw you come in with one book". I said no, the receipt clearly states I brought two books, the proof was there and in my hands. She then looked at me funny and said "Well I though I saw you come in with just one book". I felt like she was treating me like a criminal, like I was going in there to shoplift. I then became a bit flustered and annoyed and told her politely that the receipt clearly states that I brought two books, why would I lie, did she think I was coming in there to steal stuff? She then kept scrutinizing my receipt. Without another word she granted me the return and the credit on a card, without even saying thank you. I did say thank you and was the better person. I could have been very nasty and called her out. I am not sure who she was but she made me very upset and the manager of this store needs to realize that (despite the sketchy area) not everyone going there is an indigent. I am an accountant with a college degree and money in the bank who loves thrift shops. However this is one I will not be returning to anytime soon. You have lost a customer. Please educate your staff on the basics of good customer service. They really need it because every time I have been there I have never felt any kind of friendliness or empathy from them.
