Mercy Hospital saved my father's life this evening. In 2007, he had a heart attack and had a stent put in. Early this evening, he was having pains again, and we had the EMT's take him to Mercy where he was seen and treated swiftly. It turned out that the stent was blocked.
I want to extend a personal note of thanks to Dr. Shah (the cardiologist), Dr. Toby (can't recall his last name), and the two nurses (both named Jenny) who cared for him. We were never left waiting for more than an hour, were given frequent updates on my father's condition, and were never left wondering about his status, which made a suddenly stressful evening a little easier to take.
Again, thank you all. You're still a top-flight facility despite being overtaken by the for-profit Goliath that is UPMC.
