| - A special occasion restaurant that's trendy AND spendy, Sage should be your first choice when dining at Aria.
Our server JBond (!) was sweet and professional. A sign of a good server shouldn't only tell you about the specials of the night, but actually to make those things sound so delectably good, you'd want to order everything!
All our choices were on point: nothing lacking in seasoning, everything cooked to perfect the temperature, portion is just right.
Sweetbreads is something that I'll never make at home, so I always order it whenever I see it on the menu. I wish this one was a bit more crispier, but the polenta soaked up all the juices from the sweetbreads and the thick cut of glazed bacon was something I really loved.
The bf's seared scallops were large circles of luxuriously soft goodness. My lamb saddle was braised to perfection, capturing all the flavor of the meat being super tender.
Their amazing signature dish, the Foie gras brûlée, deserves all the hype that everyone on yelp mentions. Generous serving of foie topped with caramelized bits of sugar, cherry coulis and thick sweet-salty brioche tops. I'm sad that foie gras is now banned in California, but Sage gives me a reason next time to come back!
We didn't order dessert since we were saving room in our bellies for more cocktails (go figure!) at a lounge later on. But our server was so sweet, he sent us complimentary white chocolate mugs to end our meal on a sweet note.
Sage is worth every pretty penny. Highly recommended!
