| - I really liked my recent stay at the Holiday Inn. I've stayed here before, many years ago, and the hotel wasn't bad back then, but it's really nice now. All the rooms and the lobby has been totally renovated and modernized, and there's now a really nice restaurant downstairs by the lobby.
When me and my friend arrived, we didn't have a reservation, but luckily, they had a room for us. They also gave us a great price: $124 + Taxes. The room was a bit small, but it was nice and clean. There was one round table and two comfy chairs, but since the chairs were low, it was hard to work at the table on my laptop. The wireless Internet barely worked, but luckily they also had wired Internet available, and that worked just fine. There were quite a few channels to watch on the TV, which was nice, because I don't get channels like The Food Network, Showcase, and Teletoon at home. The beds were super comfy too, and the room was clean.
Our room was actually right by the railroad tracks, and I did hear the train go by a few times, but the noise didn't bother me at all. It didn't last long, and it never woke either of us up. I actually find the noise kind of soothing. Also, my friend had to go to a conference downtown, so he just walked to the Light Rail Transit, which was only like a block and a half away.
This hotel also had a nice swimming pool, sauna, and 24-hour workout room. The workout room has some basic equipment and exercise machines, and they also had free, chilled filtered water in there. I hate tap water, so I kept coming down to the gym to drink some of that great water!
I also ordered pizza from a place called Manies Pizzaria. I found their ad in the Holiday Inn hotel guide, but be warned that the prices are very outdated and are more expensive now.
I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely come back.
