| - I guess I'm a glutton for punishment. If you look through my reviews, you'll notice a trend - I don't seem to have very good luck dealing with competent staff at Best Buys. My visit today, to the location on Maryland Parkway, in Las Vegas - was no different.
This time around, I'm not the shopper. My uncle and I dropped in so he could pick up a CF card for his digital camera. He was able to find and choose one before I finished up looking around for myself. Then we ended up in the Samsung mobile device section.
As someone who works with Apple devices, I won't and don't claim to know a lot about Samsung - or Android devices. So, while there - why not have someone who is selling the product go over some of the basics with. Well, that would have been nice had the staff not been ignoring the customers and talking with one another - NOT work related. To make matters worse, when one finally broke free from his socially important meeting while on the clock, and on the sales floor - thus meaning while at work - his attitude was pretty clear that he didn't care to answer questions.
Laziness and incompetence are two qualities in people I just don't have much patience for. There are so many people who are willing to and want to work however, I come across so many that don't have a decent work ethic or a care in the world to really become competent with what they've been hired to do or work with. Not sure what the hiring practices are at Best Buy however, I've been to enough locations and experienced the same bullshit at different locations, cities and states. It's these experiences that have led me to just buy online - and not from this retailer.
I doubt management will read this as it's only a Yelp review however, it would be great if someone did; someone who could affect change with regards to their hiring practices - because it would be nice to have electronics stores where people can go and see, touch and feel things before or instead of buying online.
