Ice Pan can be a bit hard to find; located up on the 2nd floor of the Harrah's but ask someone that works there and they will be able to direct you. Came here during my last Vegas trip and after reading some reviews, just had to try it.
Got there around 10ish and there were a couple people waiting for their ice cream to be made. (NOT SCOOPED, I REALLY MEAN MADE) Eventually ordered the green tea ice cream with mochi. The cashier seemed to be the owner of the place. A very nice and cordial Korean man wants the customer to know the benefits and the differences of Ice Pan and almost every other ice cream shop in the nation. He mentioned that every was all natural. He even showed me the powder they used to make my green tea ice cream (matcha powder). He then opened one of the brochures for me to look over while I waited for my ice cream.
After placing my order, one of the 2 ice cream makers started making my ice cream. They first mixed the powder with the milk and then added it to the anti-griddle. Adding in a few bits of mochi and then they started mixing. The cold structure made the liquid turn into the ice cream quickly and the person would start mixing it all around until it became the right consistency. Ended up with three medium sized scoops with more mochi added on top.
Taking my first bite, the taste of the green tea was very apparent and the consistency was perfect. It wasn't over-churned (or hand-mixed in this cased) and the mochi was a great accompaniment.
Watching the mixers make the ice cream was a bit drawing point to me. It felt like everything was fresh and you actually knew what was going into it.
I would definitely come back. I really hope I do not come when it is busy because it took quite a bit of time to make the ice cream so i can just imagine how long it would take to get one if there are others in front of me.
