  • Le marché de la viande par excellence! One should in no way consider Thurday's to be a viable destination for an evening out in Montreal. Really, don't. Particularly if you are female. Or like females. At all. However, if you are able to treat it like the twisted anthropological field trip that it is, you can experience some first class entertainment. The ambiance of the place is vintage testosterone fueled, Euro disco, re-imagined by a Kuwaiti designer going for a pseudo-French Brasserie look and feel. The music is loud, distorted and will definitely get you headed onto the dance floor...on your way to the nearest exit. When I visit (and I do!), my cerebral iPod typically drifts between "Ironic" by Alanis Morrisette and "What is Love?" by Haddaway because I swear that THIS is the place that inspired The Roxbury Guys on SNL. Honestly, this place is a consistent source of entertainment for me. If the stars were for sheer ironic enjoyment I would easily give it 5. But I am afraid...afraid that someone might see the 5 stars on their phone and actually go here expecting a great night out. HOWEVER - - if you are female and have an inclination to be serially propositioned by viscous gentlemen of fatherly age, but very un-paternal intent - where Drakkar Noir still rules the night - THIS is the place for you. But don't get your hopes up - these guys seem to be Splenda-Daddies at best.
