| - Codescape is my 2nd escape room experience, and after trying out Final Sacrifice at Exit Strategy, I came in a little discouraged but optimistic. Man, were my expectations blown away!
From entering their waiting room complete with giant beanbags and complimentary water, I knew that I was in a much more comfortable environment. All of our party arrived (they do have a small grace period of time, but please try to get your group there on time! Makes it so much easier) and we went over the rules. Pretty simple common sense rules - they're not allowed by law to lock you in, so if anybody gets claustrophobic, there's always an out. They also have free lockers you can use for your convenience! Our group tried out their newest room, The Experiment. It helps that all of us were truly driven to finish, we worked pretty damn well together. The puzzles were creative and required a good amount of teamwork, and we all had a blast figuring everything out. Ambiance, soundtrack, and props are all wonderful and high quality. We made it out in -30 seconds with one clue, which we were all pretty happy about. Allen, our puzzlemaster, was kind enough to show us around in the other rooms as well (just to take a peek at the entrance to the first room, so we'd know).
Overall, although it's expensive to play ($28), I *really* enjoyed my experience at Codescape. Afterwords, you can walk over to Catawba and reward yourself :)
