| - Horrible experience yesterday at checkout counter. Did not see a name tag on the lady who gave me the "customer NO service." She was an older brunette with glasses and kind of messy wavy long hair. She was at the check out counter closest to the bakery. Tex was her bagger. He is always wonderful, friendly, and smiling.
I had just picked up my autistic son from his special needs school in south Scottsdale, driven all the way back home to north Scottsdale, dropped him off at home with our nanny and baby and raced to AJ's to pick up something for dinner.
I finished my shopping & got to the checkout at about 4:45, and my nanny was supposed to get off at 5:00. It happened to be Valentine's Day so the line was about 3 deep. That was to be expected. No big deal.
The lady directly in front of me had a problem with the price her meat was coming up and insisted it should have been on sale. The cashier called the butcher's dept. Ended up having a bagger run the meat back there to check out price, if it was an error, etc. All the while this held up the EVER growing line. I thought she should have stepped aside and let the cashier continue processing other customers' transactions in the interim.
It was taking a while so I offered to just pay the difference in the cost of her meat and whatever she thought the cost should be. The cashier me I couldn't do that. I said, "why?" She replied, "Because we don't know how much that is. Look - you can't come in here in a hurry on a day like today!!!!!" Seriously? Did she just say that to a customer? What a miserable person. The retail cost of the meat was printed on the label. Come on lady!!!
After waiting nearly 10 minutes for that transaction to be finished, the cashier was certainly not shy about making me hurry the Hell up insisting I, "SLIDE MY CARD!!!!" and then, "I NEED YOUR SIGNATURE NOW!!" I waited close to 10 minutes and endured your mistreatment, lady. I will take my sweet time swiping my card and signing my name, and you will wait 1 minute for me. I hope you are fired! You certainly should be.
