Some of the comments below about the exhibits not being available are out of date as the renovations to the History Center are now completed and the plane/car aspects of the place look great. The collections are amazing.
What's off-putting to me about this place is that the "history" on offer is primarily oriented toward stories of the rich.
The current show about dresses in Cleveland seems a little out of touch in a post-Occupy America. My guess is this is a bone thrown to their board of directors for fundraising at the country club.
This conservative theme is underscored by the exhibit on the eternally unfunny Bob Hope, whose vapid cultural star faded decades ago. Even Burbank, California doesn't want an airport with his name on it anymore.
The history of Cleveland is rich with stories of it's greatness and humanity. I wish more of that was on offer here.
Right now, it seems too much like some white wealthy cabal's plaything.
