Ugh. This place sucks.
Okay, so one can argue this is partially my fault, but hear me out.
I work in the Galleria. It was 3pm. Commoncy was closed and I had about 20 minutes to grab and eat lunch before my next meeting. I went to BodyFuel because it was too hot for street tacos. Since it was so late in the afternoon there were slim pickin's in their fridge - pretty much only pasta and sushi - so I opted for a California roll thinking, "this is standard. It can't be worse than whole wheat pasta and ground turkey."
WRONG. It was inedible. Everything fell apart in the roll. The rice was rock hard. The seaweed had completed softened. It was like eating cardboard that was disguised as food. After two bites I had to throw it away.
I've never ordered pre-made food from an establishment that I physically could not eat - and I'm including street meat with questionable integrity from the depths of history rich China in this mix. I get that this product is probably an afterthought from their other pre-packaged meals, but come on, if you're selling food make sure your patrons can actually eat it. Plus - I have no idea how old this roll was and judging by how hard the rice was, it was probably not stored properly (I've made sushi at home and this only happens to rice if you leave it out without covering it or it's been sitting in the fridge for too long).
The WORST part of this whole experience is that they had the audacity to charge $9 for this bs. That's more than what you would pay at any ACTUAL sushi restaurant.
I've heard positive feedback from my co-workers about the entrees here, but based on this experience I would never patron a business like this. Selling a product that is old, stale, and probably not properly stored is unacceptable from a business that advertises the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. It indicates that the business owner is in it just for revenue and not company value.
Major pass on this. Avoid like the plague.
