Had lunch there today. First visit after a long absence. One or two recognizably British items on menu, all the rest pretty much American comfort food. C&W background music, of all things. Said to server: "This is supposed to a British pub?" Reply: "Not really." Hmmm.
Ladywife ordered Cheese&Potato pasty: very large, very good. But no Branston Pickle. I ordered Beef&Guinness Pie: very large, very satisfying. But "sauteed" veg were steamed, and mashed potato were born from a not very high quality bag. Doesn't take much to peel and mash a few real potatoes, no? -- but no. I'm told the Fish&Chips are excellent; will go back to try them.
Guinness was served with too much fizz, in a dripping glass. Ladywife had to teach server how to properly pour Guinness on draft. She learned it at the brewery in Dublin.
Weird little place, kinda fun, food good but not magnificent. Ask for server Bree: bright and sparkly young lady with wicked sense of humor.
