| - I'm not from the area, but I'm used to getting my hair done very few weeks and I was overdue. I called the day before to book and got an appointment with Matt. I could have sworn it was for 1pm the next day, but when I arrived the receptionist said I missed my 12pm appointment. Darn. Ok. But Matt was accommodating, and while obviously stressed at having to get me and the other person scheduled at 1 done at the same time, he made it work and fit me in. That was great! Especially since I drove quite a way to be there.
Receptionist offered me something to drink while I waited. When Matt took me to the chair he briefly looked at my picture I brought and got to work. I grew up with a hairdresser mother and have been getting my hair done by her and other stylists across the country for most of my life. I thought I would let him know my hair is very warm and usually turns pretty orange when lightening it, so usually the colorist uses ash. He apparently took that as me trying to tell him how to do his in and got defensive. He told me he was going to do what he was going to do. Well, guess what? My hair came out warm and he had to use a toner to get it back almost as dark as it was when I came in. It is slightly lighter, so I'm ok with it. But I was expecting a little more cool than warm. It's not unreasonable - I have gone from black to blonde several times in the past.
He didn't try to sell any products to me, which I liked. The salon was clean and comfortable. Matt stayed late to do my cut and asked if it was ok to do a dry cut before he did so. The price was average.
Overall I would recommend the salon, but if you have Matt, just make sure to fully get him to understand what you are asking for. He didn't really listen to me, but I'm guessing that was just because he was rushing and juggling two people.
