| - Here's my advice: make sure to google the price of any bike you're looking at before you buy it.
My mistake, they sold us a used bike for $200 that sells for $188 (including delivery and tax) brand new online. A quick search on my phone and some bargaining would have helped me get a better deal and be happy instead of feeling sour about it. I know a bike from online would require me to assemble it myself but it also wouldn't be used.
I don't hate these guys for trying to make money, but guess what? I won't be back and I won't recommend them to friends. And I wrote this 1 star review because I'm irritated about it, they took advantage of us being naive casual cyclists and fucked us with the whole "I could sell this for way more but we're moving and I don't feel like moving the bike to the other location" line. The salesman had a dozen other stories to share with us too, like their card reader was supposedly rained-on and didn't work so we had to drive to an ATM for cash. Now I'm doubting all his stories, I bet he just wanted cash so he wouldn't be liable for the swipe fee. Yep, we're dumb marks and weren't defensive enough.
Cheers, guys! Enjoy your one time business with me. For anyone reading this, now you know what you're up against - be prepared to bargain hard or better yet just go somewhere else.
EDIT: it should be noted that I believe 5-star-reviewer "Daniel Z" is the salesman in question, at least kinda looks like him from the photo and has the same name. If they have one employee stacking the Yelp reviews, do you think that's the ONLY one?
Also the owner of this business contacted me via Yelp and asked me to call them to resolve my concerns. That's cool, though I have not yet called. There's not actually anything I want from them because their opportunity to satisfy me was when I was at the store, not later.
But I wanted to update my review to fairly tell readers that they did follow up.
