If I had to categorize Guam's food, I would say it is Hawaiian and Filipino food combined, with a dash of Mexican snuck in the mix. =YUM.
I tried my first Guamanian food at this little mom and pop restaurant, where you order at the counter. The woman who took our order was extremely helpful and explained each dish. We both chose the Hafa Adai!
The food is freshly made, so it takes time, but it is worth the wait. The bbq chicken is delicious. I liked the pork rib. The rice is great, with a yummy flavor! My favorite thing was the empanada- so perfect! The cucumber fina denne and chicken kelaguen were surprising, because they are served cold...definitely dishes to try. We'll be back! PS- get the chamorro beignets for dessert!
