| - Having flown into Toronto countless times, I can't say enough about the convenience of Billy Bishop airport. If you've ever arrived or departed from Toronto's Pearson International Airport, you know what an excruciating experience that can be. Yet surprisingly, a good amount of people haven't heard of Billy Bishop airport...
Billy Bishop is a small airport located on Toronto Island, which is practically attached to downtown Toronto. They fly Porter airlines flights to places like Chicago and Newark. The destinations are limited, and because of this, there is only a fraction of the foot traffic you would normally find at Pearson. Security checks are a breeze and so is immigration. Taxi lines are small, organized and fast.
The best part about this airport you can walk here from anywhere in downtown Toronto! There aren't many places in the world where you can actually say that... With a 30 second ferry ride, you're there.
This is, in my opinion, the only way to fly to Toronto if you have the option. For my New Jersey peeps, the direct flight from Newark is 50-60 minutes and completely hassle free. Hop off the flight and walk right to your hotel if you're staying downtown!
